DAILY LESSON REQUIREMENTS
Established for the sole purpose of ensuring the welfare of all ISR students, these protocols are obligatory and I thank you in advance for your cooperation.
-
No food or milk at least two hours prior to the lesson.
Food or milk consumed too close to lessons is a safety issue.
-
Foods to avoid for the duration of the lessons.
Yes, please do not give these foods to your child for the 4-6 weeks of lessons; or limit these foods to Friday after lessons and Saturday: apples, apple sauce, apple juice, and any type of apple product. Be sure to read fruit juice box labels carefully. Apples are gas producing and can make your child very uncomfortable and impede lesson progress. I would be happy to explain this for further clarification.
-
3 Towel Rule.
Please bring three large, clean towels to the pool each day, one towel covers the pool deck, the second is laid on top for your child to rest on after the lesson, and the third is to cover and dry off your child.
-
One non-disposable swim diaper.
All students who are not completely potty trained MUST wear a non-disposable swim diaper with elasticized legs and waist and a solid plastic liner. Look in Target, BabiesRUs, Wal-Mart, etc., for about $7.
-
Daily Home BUDS.
-
Please be diligent in filling out the Full / Home BUDS sheet before you come each day; this sheet is to record bowel, urine, diet, and sleep patterns. I realize that this takes a little time, but it facilitates making the best decision for your child's lesson each day. Fill it out completely and present it to me before your child swims. My insurance company will not allow me to swim a child without BUDS information. You can download this form from my website after registration.
-
Whoever brings your child to lessons must know your child's recent BUDS information for safety reasons. Your attention to detail and accuracy is very important to ensure the safety of your child. If unsure of the importance or relevance of something concerning your child, please, always err on the side of caution: write it down and be sure to discuss it with me prior to the start of the lesson.
Thank you for being the amazing parents that you are, and for giving me the opportunity to teach your most precious gift in the world.
Sincerely,
Barb Gorman
